THE REAL QUESTION IS: DO YOU KNOW?

My all-time favorite song is "Mary Did You Know," written by the Christian comedian, Mark Lowry.  It is a musical question concerning Mary's comprehension of the magnitude of her pregnancy.  Obviously she knew she was carrying Israel's Messiah, but did she understand that He was so much more than just the King who would deliver Israel from its enemies?  The answer is, of course, yes; the Angel Gabriel told her the Child, to whom she would give birth, was the very Son of God (Lk. 1:26-38)!  And yet, Mary pondered the angel's and the shepherd's sayings (Lk. 2:19).  As can be seen by these references, the song is clearly based upon the Word of God!

Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water? (Mt. 1:16; 14:25).
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters? (2 Cor. 6:18).
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? (2 Cor. 5:17).
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you. (Lk. 1:47).

Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man? (Jn. 9:1-38).
Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand? (Mk. 4:39).
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? (Mt. 13:41).
And when your kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God. (Jn. 1:1, 14).

Oh Mary did you know:
The blind will see, (Mt. 9:27-31).
The deaf will hear, (Mk. 7:32-37).
The dead will live again. (Mk. 5:35-43; Lk. 7:12-15; Jn. 11:1-44).
The lame will leap, (Jn. 5:5-9; Acts 3:1-16).
The dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb! (Mt. 9:32-33; Acts 3:8-9).

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? (Jn. 1:1-3; Col. 1:16).
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations? (Rev. 19:15).
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb? (1 Pet. 1:19).
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I AM! (Jn. 5:43; 6:35; 7:29; 8:12; 8:58; 9:5; 10:36; 11:25; 13:13; 14:6; 15:1; 18:5-6; etc.).

And, He died and was raised from the dead to prove it!  Do you believe?
