2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Lovers of their own selves - self-centered, selfish, constantly posting selfies, narcissistic!
Covetous - greedy, lovers of getting and spending money!
Boasters - braggarts, arrogant, embellishing the truth to gain glory!
Proud - believing one is superior to those around him or her!
Blasphemers - worshipping a god of their own image, speaking of God in an irreverent way, using the name of God and His Son as curse words!
Disobedient to parents - failing to obey parents when they are young, and showing little or no respect when grown!
Unthankful - ungrateful, thinking things are owed to them!
Unholy - failure to have reverence for God, His Word, and His children; living in a way displeasing to God!
Without natural affection - lacking love for family, and some even having an unnatural affection for those of their own gender!
Truce-breakers - lovers of conflict, cannot be trusted, their word means nothing!
False accusers - false witnesses, blaming others, liars!
Incontinent - lacking in self-control!
Fierce - full of rage, savage, brutal, untamed like a wild animal!
Despisers of that which is good - loves evil and hates good, takes pleasure in the evil of others, lovers of darkness and haters of the light!
Traitors - back-stabbers, false friends, not loyal, cannot be trusted!
Heady - act on whatever "pops into" their mind to do, speaks without considering others!
High-minded - arrogant, conceited, think more highly of themselves than they ought!
Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God - seek pleasure that is forbidden by God's Word!
Even within the church, many have a form of godliness, but lack the Holy Spirit's power to live as God desires; faithful believers are to avoid these evil characteristics and have no fellowship with those who are guilty of them (that is, those who practice doing and thinking thusly)!
YOU SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUIT!
