THE MESSAGE THAT PRODUCES SAVING FAITH!

KEY VERSES:  Luke 24:46-48 - And (Jesus) said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:  and that REPENTANCE AND REMISSION OF SINS should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  And you are witnesses of these things.

REMISSION OF SIN:  WHAT JESUS DID FOR US!

REMISSION is defined as:  the forgiveness or pardon of the penalty due to those who sin.  That includes everyone!   For ALL have sinned - - - For the wages (penalty) of sin is DEATH! (Romans 3:23; 6:23)

Matthew 26:28For this is My blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Acts 2:36-38 - Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made that same Jesus, Whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.  Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 5:30-32The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom you slew and hanged on a tree.  Him has God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince (Prince of Peace - Isaiah 9:6) and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins (remission)And we are His witnesses of these things....

Acts 10:42-43 - And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He Who was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.  To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins

REPENTANCE:  OUR RESPONSE TO OUR SINS HAVE BEEN REMITTED!

REPENTANCE is defined as:  having a change of mind; turning from sin to faith in God; it is often described in the Scriptures as one grieving over having displeased God (Jeremiah 8:6; 31:19; Matthew 12:41 (compare with Jonah 3:4-8).

Mark 1:14-15 - Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand:  repent and believe the Gospel.

Acts 11:17-18 - (Peter speaking) Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as He did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that I could withstand God?  When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then has God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Acts 20:20-21 - (Paul speaking) And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks (non-Jews; Gentiles), repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 7:10 - For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be repented of:  but the sorrow of the world works death.

2 Peter 3:9The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
