CHRIST'S MODEL PRAYER!

BEGIN WITH AN ATTITUDE CHECK!

Matthew 6:5-13 - And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are:  for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.  Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.  But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father Who is in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret shall reward you openly.  But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do:  for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.  Be not therefore like unto them:  for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask Him.  After this manner therefore pray:

Our Father Who is in heaven, Hallowed is Your name.

John 1:12-13 - But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them gave He (our Father) power to become the sons (children) of God, even to those who believe on His (Jesus' - see Acts 4:10-12) name:  who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Romans 8:14-16 - For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

Galatians 4:4-6 -But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the Law, to redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

1 John 3:1-2 -  Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:  therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be:  but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

John 18:36Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world:  if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews:  but now is My kingdom not from here.

1 Corinthians 15:50-54Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.  Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:  for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Revelation 11:15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever.

GIVE US THE DAY OUR DAILY BREAD.

John 6:31-35 - Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.  For the bread of God is He Who comes down from heaven, and gives life unto the world.  Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:  he that comes to Me shall never hunger; and he that believes on Me shall never thirst.

AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS,
AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS.

Matthew 6:14-15For if you forgive men their trespasses (sins; offenses, unloving behavior), your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  but if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 18:29-35 - And his fellow-servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.  And he would not:  but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.  So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.  Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you desired (it of) me:  shouldn't you also have had compassion on your fellow-servant, even as I had pity on you?  And his lord was wroth (filled with anger), and delivered him to the tormentors (jailers), till he should pay all that was due unto him.  So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if you from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION,
BUT DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL (ONE):

Note:  The "evil one," (because the definite article is used, it is referring to a specific person; in this case, the tempter is the devil - compare Matthew 4:1-11.

1 Corinthians 10:13 - There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:  but God is faithful, Who will not suffer (allow) you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

James 1:12-14 - Blessed is the man that endures temptation:  for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God:  for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither (does He) tempt any man:  but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER,
AND THE GLORY, FOREVER.  AMEN.

Mark 13:26 - And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Revelation 4:11 - You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power:  for You have created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created.

Revelation 5:9-10And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:  for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and have made us unto our God kings and priests:  and we shall reign on the earth.

GOD IS OUR FATHER IF
JESUS IS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR
