"WOE" IS A SORROWFUL WARNING!

"WOE":  A SORROWFUL WARNING TO CHANGE!

Isaiah 5:20-21Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Isaiah 10:1-2Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; to turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of My people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

Isaiah 29:15 - Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who sees us, and who knows us?

Hosea 7:13Woe unto them!  For they have fled from Me:  destruction unto them!  Because they have transgressed against Me:  though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against Me.

Amos 5:18 - Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD!  To what end is it for you?  The day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

Matthew 23:13-30 - But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men:  for you neither go in yourselves, neither do you allow them that are entering to go in.  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayer:  therefore you shall receive the greater damnation.  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.  Woe unto you, you blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor! - - - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the Law, judgment, mercy, and faith:  these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone. - - - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. - - - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. - - - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  Because you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

Luke 6:24-26 - But woe unto you that are rich!  For you have received your consolation.  Woe unto you that are full!  For you shall hunger.  Woe unto you that laugh now!  For you shall mourn and weep.  Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!  For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Luke 11:42-52 - But woe unto you, Pharisees!  For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God:  these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.  Woe unto you, Pharisees!  For you love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. - - - And he said, Woe unto you also, you lawyers!  For you laden men with burdens grievous to be borne, and you yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.  Woe unto you!  For you build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. - - - Woe unto you, lawyers!  For you have taken away the key of knowledge:  you entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in you hindered.

Revelation 8:13And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhibitors of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

Revelation 12:9-12 - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world:  he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ:  for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them.  Woe to the inhibitors of the earth and of the sea!  For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.

GOD'S WARNINGS ARE CALLS TO REPENTANCE!

Revelation 3:19 - (To the pretending Christians of Laodicea - the church that excludes Jesus) -
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:  be zealous therefore, and repent.

Revelation 9:20-21 - And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood:  which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:  neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries (Greek pharmakeia - drug use), nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Revelation 16:8-11 - And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.  And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, Who has power over these plagues:  and they repented not to give Him glory.  And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

2 Peter 3:1-9This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:  that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior:  knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of His coming?  For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:  whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:  but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

TURN TO FOLLOW JESUS!
TIME IS TRULY SHORT!
