TRUE BELIEVERS DESIRE TO DO GOOD WORKS!
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. [Note: God is already their Father!]
Ephesians 2:8-10 - For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. [Note: Good works are to follow salvation!]
1 Timothy 6:17-18 - Charge (instruct) those who are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but (trust) in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate (desiring to share with others).
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man (child) of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Titus 2:13-14 - Looking for that Blessed Hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 3:8 - This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Hebrews 10:24 - And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works....
James 2:18 - Yes, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
1 Peter 2:12 - Having your conversation (manner of life; lifestyle) honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation (the day of His return).
Revelation 14:13 - And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth: Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their (good) works do follow them.
THE REWARD FOR A BELIEVER'S WORKS!
1 Corinthians 3:9-15 - For we are laborers together with God: you are God's husbandry (God's work), you are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, (or) wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest (revealed): for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he has built thereupon (gold, silver, precious stones), he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned (wood, hay, stubble), he shall suffer loss (of reward): but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
GOOD WORKS CANNOT SAVE YOU;
BUT ONCE YOU ARE BORN AGAIN,
YOU WILL DESIRE TO DO GOOD WORKS!
