WHAT'S IN A NAME?

HIS NAME!

Matthew 1:21-25 - And she (Mary) shall bring forth a son, and you shall call His name JESUS:  for He shall save His people from their sins.  Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel (Isa. 7:14), which being interpreted is, God with us.  Then Joseph, being raised from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:  and knew her not (did not consummate the marriage) until she had brought forth her firstborn son:  and he called His name JESUS.

FAITH IN HIS NAME!

John 1:10-13 - He (Jesus) was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.  He came unto His own (His people, the Jews), and His own received Him not.  But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons (children) of God, even to them that believe on His name:  who were born (born again - Jn. 3:3-7), not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 20:30-31 - And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book:  but these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing, you might have life through His name.

Acts 4:10, 12 - Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Whom you crucified, Whom God raised from the dead, even by Him does this man stand here before you whole. . . . Neither is there salvation in any other:  for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 10:42-43 - And He (Jesus) commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He Who was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick (living) and dead.  To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name, whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission (forgiveness) of sins.

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Philippians 2:5-11 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Revelation 19:11-14, 16 - And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.  And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:  and His name is called The Word of God.  And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. . . . And He had on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS!

JESUS WAS BURIED FOR THREE DAYS!

JESUS WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD!
