THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT!
Revelation 20:11-15 - And I saw a great white throne, and Him Who sat on it, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books* were opened: and another book was opened, which is The Book of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were all judged according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death. And whomsoever was not found written in The Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.
Note: I believe "the books" refer to the books of Moses, the Pentateuch. These five books of the Bible contain the Law, God's will for mankind. According to the Apostle Paul, the Law was our schoolmaster to teach us that we are unable to live according to God's standards, and consequently, we are made aware of our need for a Savior. Paul wrote:
Galatians 3:22-26 - the Scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the Law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
THE LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE!
Philippians 4:2-3 - I beseech (beg) Euodia (a woman's name), and beseech (beg) Syntyche (a woman's name), that they be of the same mind in the Lord. And I intreat thee (ask you) also, true yoke-fellow, help those women who labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement also, and with my other fellow-laborers, whose names are in The Book of Life.*
Revelation 13:7-8 - And it was given unto him (the beast; Antichrist) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in The Book of Life* of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Revelation 17:8 - The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in The Book of Life* from the foundation of the world,** when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Note: * "The Book of Life" - The Book of Life refers to the book containing the names of those who trust in God and whose sins were replaced by God's righteousness when they accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior (John 3:16; Romans 4:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:6; James 2:23; etc.). In other words, The Lamb's Book of Life.
Note: ** "from the foundation of the world" - Because of God's Omniscient foreknowledge, He must have written and sealed the names within The Lamb's Book of Life no later than at the time of creation. On the other hand, the book of the living, from which names can be removed, changes moment to moment.
THE BOOK OF THE LIVING!
Revelation 3:5 - He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.
* "the book of life" = "the book of the living." Because there existed the possibility of the person's name being blotted out or erased, I believe this has to refer to a book listing the living. One cannot have eternal life, if there is the possibility of that life ending. Believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit of whom they have been born again (John 3:6-7; Ephesians 1:12-13; 4:30)!
THE BOOK OF THE LIVING HAS A HORRIFIC ENDING
IF YOUR NAME IS NOT IN THE BOOK OF LIFE!
TRUST GOD AND ACCEPT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR TODAY!
