SALVATION IS FREE; DISCIPLESHIP COSTS!

SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS!

Romans 5:17-18 - "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast."

BUT THE LORD JESUS CALLS BELIEVERS TO FOLLOW HIM!

Matthew 4:19 - "And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Matthew 8:22 - "But Jesus said unto him, Follow Me; and let the dead bury their dead."
Matthew 9:9 - "And as Jesus passed forth from thence, He saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom:  and He saith unto him, Follow Me.  And he arose, and followed Him."
Matthew 16:24 - "Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me."
Matthew 19:21 - "Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:  and come and follow Me."
John 1:43 - "The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me."
John 10:27-28 - "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me:  and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand."
John 12:26 - "If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be:  if any man serve Me, him will My Father honor."
John 13:36 - "Simon Peter said unto Him, Lord, whither goest Thou?  Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow Me now; but thou shalt follow Me afterwards."
John 21:19 - "This spoke He, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, He saith unto him, Follow Me."

AND FOLLOWING CHRIST, AS HIS DISCIPLE, WILL COST US!

Luke 14:25-33 - "And there went great multitudes with Him:  and He turned, and said unto them, If any man come to Me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.  For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?  Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.  Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?  Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassador, and desireth conditions of peace.  So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be My disciple."

AND YET, THE COST IS NOTHING

COMPARED TO THE REWARDS THAT AWAIT US!
