W.W.J.D. ONLY APPLIES TO THOSE WHO TRUST IN W.D.J.D.!

It seems to me that modern Christianity is focused upon the wrong message.  Remember all the hub-bub about bracelets with W.W.J.D. (What Would Jesus Do)?  They must have sold a billion of them, and for those who are born again, they not only are a way to let the world know of your faith in Jesus, but they serve to remind the wearer of his or her obligation to serve the Lord in every situation; especially when making decisions of what to say or do.

Unfortunately, those items seem to carry a message that infers by asking oneself that question, and living as close to being Christ-like as you can, you are pleasing to God, and your heavenly home is assured.  In other words, one can earn their salvation by living as Jesus lived.  Works warrant salvation!  The Scriptures declare salvation is by faith in Christ, and that it cannot be earned; here are a few examples:

Ezekiel 33:13 - "When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousness shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it."  [For all have sinned! - Rom. 3:23]
Romans 4:1-5 - "For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.  For what saith the Scripture?  Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.  Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.  But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."
Romans 10:1-3 - "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.  For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God."
Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast."
Titus 3:5-7 - "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Whom He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; that being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

My thought is, instead of wearing the W.W.J.D., what we should be wearing is W.D.J.D. (What Did Jesus Do)?  For instance, Jesus is the Creator (Jn. 1:3; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:1-2; etc.)!  Jesus took on the form of man in order to die for our sin (2 Cor. 5:21; Phil. 2:5-8; etc.)!  Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to His Father (Mt. 28:7; Jn. 21:14; Acts 1:9; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; 1 Jn. 2:2; etc.)!  Before one needs to ask What Would Jesus Do, he needs to have trusted in What Did Jesus Do!  And is still doing for us!

BEFORE WE ASK W.W.J.D., WE SHOULD TRUST IN W.D.J.D.!
