THE HOLY SPIRIT!

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?  HE IS GOD!

[Note:  The Hebrew רוּחַ ruwach, is translated "spirit" all 232 times.  The Greek πνεῦμα pneuma is translated "spirit" 296 times out of the 385 times it appears in the New Testament; the remaining 89 times, it is translated "ghost."  Many of the New Testament books have the Greek word translated both ways: "spirit" and "ghost."  An example is John 14:17 and 14:26.  To avoid confusion, all verses will use the word "spirit."]

Matthew 1:18 - Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:  When as His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.  
[Note:  Because the Holy Spirit "begat" Jesus, the Holy Spirit must be God; Jesus identified Himself as the Son of God (Jn. 9:35-38)!]

Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit....  

Acts 5:1-4 - But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, and kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.  But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?  While it remained, was it not thine own?  And after it was sold, was it not in thine own power?  Why have you conceived this thing in thine heart?  You have not lied unto men, but unto God.

*  HE INDWELLS BELIEVERS - John 14:17.

*  HE SEALS BELIEVERS - Ephesians 1:13; 4:30.

*  HE COMFORTS BELIEVERS - John 16:7.

*  HE GUIDES BELIEVERS - Luke 12:11-12; John 16:13-14.

*  HE GIVES GIFTS TO BELIEVERS - 1 Corinthians 12:1-12.

*  HE PRODUCES "FRUIT" IN BELIEVERS - Galatians 5:22-23.

*  HE REPEATEDLY FILLS BELIEVERS - Matthew 5:6; Acts 2:4; 4:8, 31; 9:17; 13:9;              Ephesians 3:19; 5:18; 1 John 1:8-10.

BOTTOM LINE:

HE TRANSFORMS SINNERS AND 

USES US TO SHARE THE GOSPEL 

OF THE CRUCIFIED, BURIED, AND RESURRECTED 

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!
