THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD!

ADAM WAS CREATED IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD!

Genesis 1:26-27 - And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness:  and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.  So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. 

WHEN ADAM SINNED, HE CEASED BEING LIKE GOD!

Genesis 5:1-3 - This is the book of the generations of Adam.  In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made He him; male and female created He them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.  And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.

Exodus 8:10 - And he said, Tomorrow.  And he said, Be it according to thy word:  that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.

1 Samuel 2:2 - There is none holy as the LORD:  for there is none beside Thee:  neither is there any rock like our God.

Isaiah 55:8-9 - For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

JESUS CAME TO RESTORE GOD'S LIKENESS IN MAN!

John 1:1, 14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - - - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved - - - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 - Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:  we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.  For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Philippians 2:5-8 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

GOD'S WILL SHALL BE A REALITY TO ALL WHO TRUST IN JESUS!

Hebrews 13:20-21 - Now the God of peace, Who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that Great Shepherd of the Sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to Whom be glory forever and ever.  Amen.

1 John 3:1-2 - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God:  therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.  Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:  but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

JESUS BECAME LIKE MANKIND SO 

THAT MANKIND COULD BE LIKE HIM!
