THE CRUCIFIXION: 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 NOON
Luke 23:33-34 - And when they had come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on His right hand, and the other on His left. Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
Luke 23:39-43 - And one of the criminals who was hanged railed on Him, saying, If You are Christ, save Yourself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, seeing you are in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man has done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, Today you shall be with Me in paradise.
John 19:25-28 - Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple standing by, whom He loved, He said unto His mother, Woman, behold your son! Then He said to the disciple, Behold your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
THE SKY TURNED DARK: 12:00 NOON - 3:00 P.M.
Matthew 27:45-46 - Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
John 19:28-30 - After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to His mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished....
Luke 23:46 - And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit: and having said thus, He "gave up the ghost" (He died).
DAYLIGHT RETURNED: 3:00 P.M.
John 19:34-35 - But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced His side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bares record, and his record is true: and he knows that he said the truth, that you might believe.
Matthew 27:51-54 - And, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in half from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks broke; and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had died, arose and came out of the graves after His Resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the Centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
WHY DID GOD ALLOW THE CRUCIFIXION?
John 3:14-17 - And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved - - - how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
Acts 16:30-31 - And he brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved....
AMEN!
