THE FACT: JESUS DIED TO PROVIDE FOR THE REMISSION OF SIN!
REMISSION: The full payment for the sin of believers!
Matthew 26:26-28 - And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is My body. And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it; for this is My blood of the new testament (covenant), which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Luke 24:45-48 - Then He (Jesus) opened their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance AND remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things.
Acts 10:39-43 - And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; Whom they slew and hanged on a tree (a cross): Him God raised up the third day, and showed Him openly; not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead. And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He Who was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick (living) and dead. To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins.
Hebrews 9:22 - . . . without shedding of blood is no remission.
THE FAITH: THOSE WHO TRULY BELIEVE IT, REPENT OF SINS!
REPENTANCE: Having a change of mind about Almighty God!
Matthew 9:13 - But go and learn what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but (I am come to call) sinners to repentance.
Luke 13:3 and 5 - I tell you, Nay: but, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish.
Acts 3:19 - Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out....
Acts 20:20-21 - And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks (non-Jews; Gentiles), repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 6:1 - Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God....
2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
VAIN FAITH: FAITH THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE REPENTANCE!
1 Corinthians 15:1-6 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: and that He was seen of Cephas (Peter), then of the twelve: after that, He was seen of above (more than) five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep (some have died).
Matthew 7:21-23 - Not every one that says unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? And in Your name cast out devils? And in Your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity (believe you are saved by doing religious works).
Luke 6:46 - And why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace (undeserved, unmerited favor) are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
BECAUSE WE BELIEVE JESUS PROVIDED REMISSION OF OUR SIN,
WE REPENT: THAT IS,
WE CHOOSE TO LIVE A LIFE OF OBEDIENCE OUT OF GRATITUDE!
IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE THE GOSPEL, YOUR LIFE WILL SHOW IT!
