THE TRIBULATION: A.K.A. THE TIME OF JACOB'S TROUBLE
Jeremiah 30:7-9 - Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the Time of Jacob's Trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. For it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and will burst your bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: but they shall serve the LORD their God (Jesus as the Son of God - see Lk. 1:32; Heb. 1:8), and David their king (Jesus as the Son of man - see Mt. 19:28; 25:31) , Whom I will raise up unto them.
THE TRIBULATION: A.K.A. DANIEL'S SEVENTIETH WEEK!
Daniel 9:24-27 - Seventy weeks (490 years) are determined upon thy people (Israel) and upon thy holy city (Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint The Most Holy (the Second Coming of Christ - Rev. 19:11-16). Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks (49 years - the rebuilding of the temple and Jerusalem), and threescore and two weeks (434 years awaiting their Messiah, for a total of 483 years): the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off (Jesus would be crucified), but not for Himself (He was sinless -see 2 Cor. 5:21, and would die for the sins of the world - see 1 Jn. 2:2): and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (the future prince would come from out of what was the Roman Empire - Rome destroyed the temple and the city in A.D. 70); and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined (Armageddon - see Rev. 16:16). And he (the prince who shall come) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (7 years): and in the midst of the week (3 1/2 years: a time, times, and a half time - see Dan. 7:25; 12:7 and Rev. 12:14; 1260 days - see Rev. 11:3; 12:6; 42 months - see Rev. 11:2; 13:5); he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
THE MID-POINT OF THE TRIBULATION!
Matthew 24:16-21 - When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet (Dan. 9:27), stand in the holy place, (whoso is reading this, let him understand): then let those who are in Judaea flee into the mountains: let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: neither let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto those who are with child, and to those who give suck in those days! But pray that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Revelation 13:1-9 - And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast (the prince of Dan. 9:26-27; the Antichrist - see 2 Th. 2:3-4; 1 Jn. 2:18-22; 4:3; 2 Jn. 1:7) rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered (marveled) after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon (Satan - see Rev. 12:9; 20:2) which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle (temple), and those who dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Jesus - see Jn. 1:29, 36; Rev. 13:8; 17:8). If any man have an ear, let him hear.
THE GOOD NEWS: JESUS ENDS THE TRIBULATION!
Revelation 19:11-16 - And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God (see Jn. 1:1-3, 14). And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treads the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
