RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE WORK OF GOD

WE ALL HAVE SINNED AND NEED THE SAVIOR

*  Psalm 14:3 - "They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy:  there is none that does good, no, not one."
*  Isaiah 64:6 - "But we are all unclean, and all our righteousness is like filthy rags...."
*  Romans 3:10, 23 - "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one....For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

JESUS CHRIST CAME TO SEEK AND TO SAVE THE LOST

*  Matthew 18:11 - "For the Son of man has come to save those who are lost."
*  John 3:16-17 - "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."
*  Romans 5:8 - "But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
*  1 Timothy 1:15 - "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of being accepted...Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners...."

 

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

*  Matthew 6:33 - "...seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
*  John 6:29 - "...This is the work of God, that you believe on Him Whom He has sent."
*  Acts 16:31 - "...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved...."
*  Romans 10:9, 13 - "...if you shall confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and shall believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved....For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
*  Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast."

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I BELIEVE?

*  Isaiah 61:10 - "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks Himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."
*  John 1:12 - "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to those who  believe on His name."
*  2 Corinthians 5:21 - "For the Father made Jesus to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him."
*  Titus 3:5, 7 - "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us....That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
*  1 John 5:13 - "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life...."
*  Revelation 19:9 - "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. [Note:  Remember where we get our righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21 above)]!
