I AM!
Exodus 3:13-14 - And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers has sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is His name? What shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shall you say unto the children of Israel, I AM has sent me unto you.
John 8:58-59 - Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Then took they up stones to cast at Him: but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
John 18:4-6 - Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon Him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom do you seek? They answered Him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said unto them, I AM (He*). And Judas also, who betrayed Him, stood with them. As soon then as He had said unto them, I AM (He*), they went backward, and fell to the ground.
Note: (He*) is not in any of the Greek manuscripts. That is why it is in italics in the King James Version and many others.
THE WORD!
John 1:1, 14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Note: I have used italics here to emphasis the use of the word "the"; it is the definite article, used before a noun to define it as something specific, that is, something previously mentioned or known, something unique, or something being identified by the speaker.
1 John 1:1-3 - That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; for the Life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us; that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:4-7 - For whosoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
IN LIGHT OF THESE FACTS, THE FOLLOWING
VERSE SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD AS SAYING:
John 14:6 - Jesus said unto Thomas,
I AM the Way, I AM the Truth, and I AM the Life:
no man comes unto the Father, but by Me!
Time is short!
