THE WAR WITHIN THE BELIEVER!

DISCERNMENT:
THE ABILITY TO KNOW GOOD FROM EVIL!

Deuteronomy 30:15See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.

2 Samuel 19:35 - I am this day fourscore (80) years old:  and can I discern (tell the difference) between good and evil...?
Psalm 34:14Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Proverbs 15:3The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Matthew 7:17-18 - Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Matthew 12:35 - A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things:  and an evil man out of the evil treasure (of the heart) brings forth evil things.

Romans 7:18-24For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing:  for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.  For the good that I would, I do not:  but the evil which I would not, that I do.  Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.  I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.  For I delight in the Law of God after the inward man:  but I see another law in my members, warring against the Law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.  O wretched man that I am!  Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

1 Corinthians 2:1-16

[1] And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
[2
] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save (except) Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
[3] And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
[4] And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
[5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
[6
] Howbeit we speak wisdom among those who are perfect (complete; mature; spiritual):  yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought (nothing):
[7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
[8] Which none of the princes of this world knew:  for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
[9] But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
[10] But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit:  for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
[11
] For what man knows the things of a man, save (except) the spirit of man which is in him?  Even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.
[12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
[13
] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost (Spirit) teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
[14] But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God:  for they are foolishness unto him:  neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
[15] But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
[16] For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him?  But we have the mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:13

FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN US TO WILL
AND TO DO OF HIS GOOD PLEASURE!

KNOWING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
GOOD AND EVIL DOES NOT GUARANTEE
THAT A BELIEVER WILL CHOOSE GOOD,
BUT WE HAVE AN "INNER VOICE" WHO
CREATES A STRONG DESIRE TO DO SO!
