RIGHTEOUSNESS: BEING SINLESS LIKE GOD!
Genesis 1:26-27 - And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 5:1-2 - This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made He him; male and female created He them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
AFTER ADAM SINNED, HIS CHILDREN WERE LIKE HIM, NOT GOD!
Genesis 5:3-4 - And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: and the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters.
Note: Cain and Abel were like their father in that they sinned, like all men after them, and needed their offering to be a blood-sacrifice. See Genesis 3:21; 4:1-4; and the following:
Romans 3:9-10, 23 - . . . both Jews and Gentiles . . . are all under sin; as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. . . For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (of God's likeness).
YOU AND I WERE BORN CHILDREN OF ADAM: SPIRITUALLY DEAD!
Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
THAT IS WHY WE ALL NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN!
John 3:3-7 - Jesus answered and said unto him (Nicodemus), Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb (physical birth), and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water (physical birth) and of the Spirit (spiritual birth), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto you, You must be born again.
John 1:11-13 - He (Jesus) came unto His own (the Jews), and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons (children) of God, even to them that believe on His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Romans 8:14-17 - For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons (children) of God. For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ....
BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS, ONE DAY, SHALL BE LIKE GOD!
1 John 3:1-2 - Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons (children) of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now are we the sons (children) of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR,
AND YOU SHALL ONE DAY BE LIKE HIM!
