THE RIGHTEOUSNESS EARNED BY OBEDIENCE TO THE LAW!
Deuteronomy 6:24-25 - And the LORD commanded us to do ALL these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness, IF we observe to do ALL these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.
Isaiah 64:6 - But we are ALL as an unclean thing, and ALL our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we ALL do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
MAN IS INCAPABLE OF ALWAYS OBEYING GOD'S LAW!
Romans 3:10, 23 - As it is written, There is NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE . . . . For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
WHAT THEN IS THE PURPOSE OF GOD'S LAW?
Galatians 3:23-25 - But before faith came, we were kept under the Law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the Law was our school master to bring us unto Christ, THAT WE MIGHT BE JUSTIFIED (MADE RIGHTEOUS) BY FAITH. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a school master.
GOD HAS OFFERED HIS SON'S RIGHTEOUSNESS TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE!
Genesis 15:6 - And he (Abraham) BELIEVED IN THE LORD; and He (THE LORD) counted it to him for righteousness.
Jeremiah 23:6 - In His (Israel's Messiah - see v. 5) days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jeremiah 33:16 - In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jeremiah 51:10 - THE LORD has brought forth OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS: come, and let us declare in Zion THE WORK OF THE LORD OUR GOD.
Romans 10:9-10 - That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall BELIEVE in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man BELIEVES UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He (The Father) has made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM.
THANKS BE TO GOD FOR
HIS MERCY AND GRACE!
