A PUBLIC CONFESSION OF FAITH IN CHRIST!

IF YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, SAY SO!

[Note:  All Scripture is as I understand the King James Version!]

Matthew 10:32-33 - Whosoever therefore shall confess Me (Jesus) before men, him will I confess also before My Father Who is in heaven.  But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father Who is in heaven.

Mark 8:38Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me (Jesus) and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.

Luke 12:8-9Also I (Jesus) say unto you, Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:  but he that denies Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

2 Timothy 2:12If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him (Jesus):  if we deny Him, He also will deny us.

1 John 2:22-23 - Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?  He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son.  Whosoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father:  (but) he that acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Revelation 12:11 - And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PUBLICLY CONFESSING FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST!

Romans 10:8-13But what does the Word of God, the Gospel,* say?  The word that can save you is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart:  that is, the Word of Faith, which we preach; that if you shall publicly confess with your mouth your faith in the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.  For with the heart man believes and is declared to be righteous by God; and with the mouth, confession of your faith is made is made public.  For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes on Jesus shall not be ashamed.  And there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile when it comes to salvation:  for the same Lord is rich in mercy and grace** unto all who call upon Him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

[Notes:  * The Gospel is the Word of God that has the power to save the lost (Romans 1:16-17)The Gospel is clearly stated in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, which reads:  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;  and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
** Mercy and grace:  God is just, and He is able to show us mercy because Jesus died to pay our sin debt, which is death (Romans 6:23).  God is loving in that He has given us His grace, when He exchanged our sin for His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21)Mercy is not getting what one deserves; grace is getting what one does not deserve:  in this case, salvation! ]

THE MOST COMMON WAY FOR ONE TO CONFESS FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST!

Acts 2:41 - Then they that gladly received his word (the Gospel message - see verses 22-33) were baptized:  and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 8:13Then Simon himself believed (the Gospel message - see verses 5, 12) also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Acts 8:35-38 - Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same Scripture, and preached unto him (the Gospel message of) Jesus.  And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water:  and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what hinders me from being baptized?  And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, you may.  And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Acts 10:47-48 - (Peter preached the Gospel message - see verses 34-43, then said) Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost just as we did?  And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.  Then they begged him to tarry certain days.

Acts 16:14-15And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us (the Gospel message - see verse 13): whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto (believed) the things which were spoken of Paul.  And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there.  And she constrained us.

Acts 18:8 - And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord (the Gospel message) with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

Acts 19:4-5 - Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on Him Who should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus (the Gospel message).  When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

BAPTISM DOES NOT SAVE YOU;
BUT THE SAVED OUGHT TO SAY SO BY BEING BAPTIZED!
(By the way, baptism is always public; one cannot baptize himself!)
