FROM MOCKER TO BELIEVER IN SIX HOURS!
Matthew 27:38-44 - Then were there two thieves crucified with Him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. And they that passed by reviled Him (blasphemeo - to speak disrespectfully), wagging their heads, and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save Thyself. If Thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking Him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He be the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him: for He said, I am the Son of God. The thieves also, which were crucified with Him, cast the same in His teeth (said the same things to His face).
Mark 15:27-32 - And with Him they crucify two thieves; the one on His right hand, and the other on His left. And the Scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And He was numbered with the transgressors. And they that passed by railed on Him (blasphemeo - to speak disrespectfully), wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save Thyself, and come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; Himself He cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with Him reviled Him (blasphemeo - to speak disrespectfully).
ONE MALEFACTOR BECAME A BELIEVER!
Luke 23:39-43 - And one of the malefactors (kakourgos - a criminal; an evil-doer; one worthy of death) which were hanged (hung on crosses on either side of Jesus) railed on Him (blasphemeo - to speak disrespectfully), saying, If Thou be Christ, save Thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
John 19:16-18 - Then delivered he Him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led Him away. And He bearing His cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise.
WHAT CHANGED THE THIEF'S HEART?
Luke 23:34 - Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
John 19:26-27 - When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple standing by, whom He loved, He saith unto His mother, Woman, behold thy Son! Then saith He to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
Mark 15:34 - And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?
[Note: This is the fulfillment of Psalm 22, the very Psalm
which was being played out before the malefactor's eyes!]
John 19:28 - After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
EVEN THE CENTURION RECOGNIZED JESUS BY HOW HE DIED!
John 19:30 - When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.
Matthew 27:54 - Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Mark 15:39 - And when the centurion, which stood over against Him, saw that He so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
JESUS DIED WILLINGLY FOR THE SINS OF MANKIND!
THE GOOD NEWS IS, HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD!
HE IS COMING AGAIN TO CLAIM HIS KINGDOM!
WILL YOU BE A PART OF IT?
ARE YOU LONGING FOR HIS RETURN?
