THE GOSPEL: NEWS THAT CAN CHANGE ONE'S LIFE FOREVER!
Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the Gospel* of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes it; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (non-Jew; Gentile).
1 Corinthians 15:1-6 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel* which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved - - - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: and that He was seen by Cephas (by Peter), then by the twelve: after that, He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep (some have died).
* Note: "Gospel" - The Greek here is euangelion, meaning "a message of good news." This is, by far, the greatest understatement ever made! Notice the word "angel" is the heart of the word; its meaning is "messenger."
JESUS: DIED TO OFFER SALVATION TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!
Psalm 79:9 - Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for Thy name's sake.
Galatians 1:3-5 - Grace (unmerited favor) be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: to Whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 1:1-3 - God, who at sundry (various) times and in divers manners (different ways) spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, Whom He has appointed heir of all things, by Whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the Word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
1 Peter 2:21-24 - . . . Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we should follow His steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth: Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him Who judges righteously: Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness....
1 John 2:1-2 - My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and He is the propitiation for our sins (the One Who paid-in-full our sin debt): and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 3:1-2, 5 - Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God: therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. - - - And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin.
MY VERSION OF HOW ONE IS SAVED UNTO ETERNAL LIFE!
Romans 10:9-13 - If you publicly confess your faith in the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes and God declares that person to be righteous; and with one's mouth, confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes in Him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek (non-Jew; Gentile): for the same Lord is rich unto all who call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
GOOD NEWS!
GOD LOVES SINNERS ENOUGH TO SEND
HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO DIE FOR OUR SINS!
HE DOES NOT WANT ANY TO PERISH,
BUT THAT ALL WOULD ACCEPT HIS SON,
AND RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE!
