PENTECOST: A PICTURE OF THE CHURCH AGE!

THE SEVEN SO-CALLED "FEASTS" OF THE LORD!

Leviticus 23:1-2 - [1] And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, [2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts
Note:  The word translated "feasts" is מוֹעֵד the Hebrew môwʻêd, which is defined as "appointed times" or "scheduled events."  It has nothing to do with feasts, but has to do with seven annual events on the Hebrew calendar.  Three occur in Spring:  Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Firstfruits. Pentecost occurs in the Summer.  And the last three occur in the Fall:  Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles.  Some involve specific meals, while one involves fasting.  Some are seven day long appointed times, and some involve a single day.  For a complete description, see Leviticus 23.

PENTECOST:  A PICTURE OF THE CHURCH AGE!

Leviticus 23:15-22 - [15] And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:  [16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.  [17] You shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals:  they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.  [18] And you shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams:  they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savor unto the LORD.  [19] Then you shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.  [20] And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest, [21] And you shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you:  you shall do no servile work therein:  it shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.  [22] And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not make clean riddance of the corners of your field when you reap, neither shall you gather any gleaning of your harvest:  you shall leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger:  I am the LORD your God.

Note:  Here are some of the reasons many students of the Bible believe Pentecost is a picture of the Church Age:

1.  Because the Spring appointments picture Christ's First Advent:  Passover - (Christ was our Passover Lamb - Jn. 1:29, 36; 1 Cor. 5:7); Unleavened Bread (Christ was sinless - 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:15 - and He was the Bread broken for believers - Jn. 6:51; 1 Cor. 11:23-24); and Firstfruits - (Christ was the "Firstfruits" from the grave - Mt. 27:52-53; 1 Cor. 15:20-23).

2.  Because the Fall appointments are believed to picture Christ's Second Advent:  Trumpets - may refer to the calling of Israel home to the promised land when the Antichrist agrees to the covenant; he will promise them safety, and they will only hear of wars and rumors of wars, and famines in diverse places - they will not experience them (Mt. 24:6-7).  Those who accept Christ during this peaceful half of the Tribulation, will be persecuted by the Jews in their synagogues (Lk. 21:12).  Atonement - most likely refers to the day the Antichrist commits the abomination of desolation in Israel's temple (Dan. 9:27; Mt. 24:15-21; Rev. 13:5-6).  And finally, Tabernacles - which clearly refers to Christ's return to establish His 1000 year Millennial Kingdom (Rev. 19:11- 20:15).

3.  Pentecost is celebrated with two loaves of leavened bread!  Leaven always symbolizes sin in the Bible.  The fact that the Church is made up of both Jews and Gentiles who believe in Jesus Christ, and the fact that Christians still sin (Rom. 7:15-25; 1 Jn. 1:8-10), what better symbol to represent born again believers?!

4
.  Because the events known as the Rapture of the Church, and the Tribulation of the Jews (Dan. 9:27; Jer. 30:7; Mt. 24:3-28) occur between Christ's First and Second Coming, and Revelation Ch. 6-19, makes no reference to the Church.  The Church, which began on Pentecost (Acts 2), is last mentioned in Revelation in what is considered the present age (Ch. 2-3).  It is at the beginning of Chapter 4, that the period known a "hereafter" begins (see Rev. 1:19 with 4:1).  So what happens to the Church?  Where does it go?  The answer is found in:

THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH!
John 14:1-3 - [1] Let not your heart be troubled:  you believe in God, believe also in Me.  [2] In My Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10; 4:16-18[9] For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; [10] And to wait for His Son from heaven, Whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, Who delivered us from the wrath to come. - - - [16] For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:  and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  [17] Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:  and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

JUNE 9, 2019 IS THE DAY OF PENTECOST.  SINCE THE CHURCH AGE BEGAN ON THAT DAY, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IT WILL END WITH THE RAPTURE ON THAT SAME DAY?  WHO KNOWS!  BUT THIS WE ALL DO KNOW:  THIS WORLD IS FILLED WITH EVIL AND IS MUCH LIKE THE DAYS OF NOAH AND LOT - I THINK THE LORD HAS ABOUT TOLERATED MANKIND'S REBELLION LONG ENOUGH - DON'T YOU?
