THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS AS FORETOLD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT!
Psalm 16:9-10 - Therefore My heart is glad, and My glory rejoices: My flesh also shall rest in hope. For You will not leave My soul in hell; neither will You suffer (allow) Your Holy One to see corruption.
Zachariah 12:10 - And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me Whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him (Me), as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Note: The death, burial, and resurrection of Israel's Messiah was a hidden mystery to them for their eyes were partially blinded to the truth (see Luke 24:25-32, 44-46; Romans 11:25; 16:25-27).
THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS AS FORETOLD IN THE GOSPELS!
Matthew 12:40 - For as Jonas (Jonah) was three days and three nights in the whale's (a uniquely prepared fish - see Jonah 1:17) belly; so shall the Son of man (I) be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Matthew 27:62-63 - Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation ("the day of preparation" was the 14th of Nisan - the day the Passover Lamb was killed - see Leviticus 23:5; Matthew 26:2; 1 Corinthians 5:7), the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while He was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
Mark 8:31 - And He (Jesus) began to teach them, that the Son of man (I) must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
John 2:19-21 - Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and will You rear (raise) it up in three days? But He spoke of the temple of His body.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BELIEVING IN CHRIST'S RESURRECTION!
Note: Christ's Resurrection is an essential part of the Gospel message; during this, the Church Age, the belief in the Gospel is required in order to be saved. The Gospel is "the power of God unto salvation" (Romans 1:16)! The Gospel states:
1 Corinthians 15:1-6 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved - - - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the (prophetic) Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the (prophetic) Scriptures: and that He was seen (alive) of Cephas (by Peter), then of (by) the twelve: after that, He was seen of above (by more than) five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep (some have died).
Romans 10:9-13 (as I understand the text) - But what does the Gospel say? The Word that can save you is so close to you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the Word of faith, which we preach; that if you willingly confess with your mouth, your faith in the Lord Jesus, and do believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes and is declared by God to be righteous; and with the mouth, confession of your faith in Jesus Christ results in your salvation. For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes in Jesus shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the Lord is rich in mercy and grace unto all who call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS, JUST AS HE SAID HE WOULD!
JESUS WAS BURIED, JUST AS HE SAID HE WOULD BE!
JESUS ROSE FROM THE GRAVE, JUST AS HE SAID HE WOULD!
HE IS RISEN; HE HAS ASCENDED; HE IS COMING AGAIN!
ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO HIS RETURN?
