DEATH: FOR THE BELIEVER, IT IS ONLY TEMPORARY!

THIS POST IS WRITTEN TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF GARY C. ALLEN; A BROTHER, A MENTOR, AND A DEAR FRIEND.  GARY GRADUATED BEFORE DAWN ON MONDAY, JUNE 17TH.  PRAY FOR HIS WIFE, CONNIE, AND HIS SONS TIM AND CRAIG.  HE WILL TEMPORARILY BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW AND LOVED HIM!  GARY WAS A FAITHFUL READER OF MY BLOG.  SEE YOU SOON, GARY!

DEATH:  THE TEMPORARY SEPARATION OF THE SOUL AND THE BODY!

THE SOUL

Psalm 116:15 - Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.

Luke 23:42-43 - And he (the thief on the cross) said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, Today you shall be with Me in paradise.

2 Corinthians 5:1-8 - For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:  If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.  For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened:  not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.  Now he that has wrought (made) us for the selfsame thing is God, Who also has given unto us the earnest (seal; guarantee; down-payment) of the Spirit.  Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:  for we walk by faith, not by sight:  we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

THE BODY

Romans 8:37-39 -  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us.  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:50-57 - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.  Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall ALL be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:  for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is your sting?  O grave, where is your victory? - - - But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 - But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep (have died), that you sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those also who sleep (have died believing) in Jesus will God bring with Him.  For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) those who are asleep.  For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:  and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Therefore comfort one another with these words.

REMEMBER!

THESE PROMISES APPLY TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST!

THOSE WHO DO NOT, WILL AWAIT JUDGMENT IN HELL WHEN THEY DIE!

TRUSTING IN THE ONE WHO DIED FOR YOUR SINS IS A NO-BRAINER!
