TWO GATES; TWO WAYS; TWO DESTINATIONS!

TWO GATES!

Matthew 7:13-14Enter in at the strait gate:  for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction (death and hell), and many there be which go there:  because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life (eternal life and heaven), and few there be that find it.

Notes:  Gates varied in size, from the gate to a person's walled compound (Luke 16:20), to the gate of the Temple (Acts 3:2), to the gates of a city (Luke 7:12), to the gates of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 22:14).  Larger gates had within them, a door through which individuals could pass (Acts 12:13).

John 10:7-9 - Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.  All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers:  but the sheep did not hear them.  I am the door:  by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

TWO WAYS!

John 14:1-6 - Let not your heart be troubled:  you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  And where I go you know, and the way you know.  Thomas said unto Him, Lord, we know not where You are going; and how can we know the way?  Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, (I am) the Truth, and (I am) the Life:  no one comes unto the Father, but by Me.

Proverbs 14:12There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 16:2, 25All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weighs his spirit. - - - There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

TWO DESTINATIONS!

Luke 16:19-26 - There was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:  and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his (the rich man's) gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table:  moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom:  the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torment, and seeing Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  He cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things:  but now he is comforted, and you art tormented.  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed:  so that they which would pass from here to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from there.

Notes:  "Abraham's bosom" is also known as "Paradise," the place of the faithful dead, who await their resurrection (Luke 23:43).  Following Christ's Resurrection, "Paradise" is said to be in heaven (2 Corinthians 12:4; Revelation 2:7).  "Hell" apparently has remained where it has always been, "in the heart of the earth (compare Matthew 12:40 with Luke 23:43)."  "Hell" was originally prepared for Satan and his fallen angels; it will be cast into the eternal Lake of Fire (Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6; Revelation 20:14).

Revelation 20:13-14 - And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

YOU MUST CHOOSE:
OF THE TWO GATES, ONLY ONE OPENS TO HEAVEN:  JESUS!
OF THE TWO WAYS, ONLY ONE LEADS TO HEAVEN:  JESUS!
OF THE TWO DESTINATIONS, ONLY ONE WILL BE WITH JESUS
