WHAT DOES THE BIBLE MEAN WHEN IT SAYS WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN?
John 3:3, 5-6 - . . . Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God . . . Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[Note: Water birth is a physical birth as in: "her water broke." Being "born again," is the work of the Holy Spirit. "Born of water" cannot mean baptism in that baptism follows the new birth, that is, salvation (Acts 2:41; 8:12, 35-38; 10:47-48; 18:8; etc.).]
John 6:63 - It is the Spirit Who quickens (makes alive); the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.
1 Corinthians 15:50-54 - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
[Note: The "last trump" is not the "seventh trump" of Revelation 10:7; that trump is sounded in the Tribulation, a.k.a. "Daniel's Seventieth Week" (Daniel 9:24-27), and "the Time of Jacob's Trouble" (Jeremiah 30:7). The trump mentioned here is the "last trump" the Church hears as it is caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17); this occurs prior to the seven-year Tribulation described in Matthew 24:3-29 and Revelation Chapters 6-19. The Church is not mentioned as being on earth after Revelation Chapters 2-3!]
1 Peter 1:18-25 - Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation (religious way of life) received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by Him do believe in God, Who raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God - - - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which lives and abides forever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away: but the Word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the Word which by the Gospel is preached unto you.
JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES!
HE WAS BURIED BUT HIS FATHER RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD,
JUST AS THE SCRIPTURES FORETOLD THAT HE WOULD!
TRUST IN HIM AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR,
AND YOU SHALL BE BORN AGAIN TO ETERNAL LIFE!
