BY FAITH IN THE REDEEMER, WE ARE SAVED!

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE MEAN BY REDEMPTION?

"Redemption" - The payment of a ransom for those who are being held as slaves; in the biblical sense, all of us are sinners being held as slaves to sin; the payment owed for sin is death (Rom. 3:23; 6:16, 23a). The debt against us is not viewed as simply cancelled, but has been fully paid (Rom. 5:8; 6:23b).  Christ's blood (or life - Lev. 17:11), which He shed, is the "paid ransom" by which those who believe in Him, are delivered from the servitude of sin and from its penalty.

OUR REDEEMER DIED FOR US, AND WAS RAISED TO RULE FOREVER

Job 19:25-26 - "For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:  and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God."

Psalm 19:14 - "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my Redeemer."

Isaiah 44:24 - "Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb, I AM the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by Myself."

Isaiah 63:16 - "Doubtless Thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not:  Thou, O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer; Thy name is from everlasting."

Galatians 3:13-14 - "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

Galatians 4:4-5 - "But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the Law, to redeem them that were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption of sons."

Ephesians 1:6-7 - "To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved.  In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."

Colossians 1:13-14 - "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son:  in Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins."

Titus 2:13-14 - "Looking for that Blessed Hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

1 Peter 1:18-19 - "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain (way of life) received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."

Revelation 5:9 - "And they sang a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:  for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation."

IF YOU WILL ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS AS YOUR LORD,
AND YOU BELIEVE THAT HIS FATHER RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD,
YOU WILL BECOME A CHILD OF ALMIGHTY GOD!
[JOHN 1:12; ROMANS 10:9-10; 1 JOHN 3:2]
