THE CALLED, THE CHOSEN, AND THE FAITHFUL

 THE MESSAGE TO ISRAEL

Matthew 20:16 - "So the last shall be first, and the first last:  for many be called, but few chosen."
Matthew 22:14 - "For many are called, but few are chosen."
Mark 13:20 - "And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved:  but for the elect's sake, whom He hath chosen, He hath shortened the days."

John 6:70-71 - "Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?  He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon:  for he it was that should betray Him, being one of the twelve."

John 15:16, 19 - "Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:  that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you....If ye were of the world, the world would love his own:  but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

THE MESSAGE TO THE GENTILES

Acts 9:15 - "But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way:  for he is a chosen vessel unto Me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel."

Acts 10:39-41 - "And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; Whom they slew and hanged on a tree:  Him God raised up the third day, and showed Him openly; not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead."

1 Corinthians 1:23-29 - "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling-block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.  Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.  For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:  but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:  that no flesh should glory in His presence."

Ephesians 1:3-6 - "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  according as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:  having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved."

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 - "But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:  whereunto He called you by our Gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

THE MESSAGE TO JEWISH BELIEVERS

James 2:5 - "Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love Him?"

1 Peter 2:9 - "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light."

THE MESSAGE TO THE ENEMIES OF THE LAMB OF GOD

Revelation 17:10-14 - "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.  And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.  And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.  These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them:  for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings:  and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful."
