RIGHTLY APPLYING THE WORD OF GOD

TRUTH:  FAITH IS REALITY

Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

IF OUR FAITH IS BASED UPON THE WORD OF GOD 

Romans 10:17 - "Now faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."

TRUTH:  WE CAN ASK GOD FOR ANYTHING WE DESIRE

Psalm 37:4 - "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

IF THE DESIRES OF OUR HEART IS ACCORDING TO HIS WILL  

1 John 5:14-15 - "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us:  and if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him."

TRUTH:  GOD HAS PROVIDED HIS SON TO SAVE US

1 John 2:2 - "And He is the propitiation for our sins:  and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

John 3:14-17 - "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:  that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."

WE ARE SAVED IF WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD

John 3:18 - "He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

John 8:24 - "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins:  for if ye believe not that I AM, ye shall die in your sins." 

TRUTH:  RELIGIOUS WORKS WILL NOT SAVE YOU

Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast."

Titus 3:5 - "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."

BUT, THE SAVED WILL DO WORKS THAT GLORIFY GOD

Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Who is in heaven." 

Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Philippians 2:13 - "For it is God Who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure."

James 2:17-18 - "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works:  show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works."

TRUTH:  REAL BELIEVERS IN CHRIST WILL TELL OTHERS 

Romans 10:9-13 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
