IF HE IS YOUR GOD, THEN SERVE HIM!
Deuteronomy 10:12 - "And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul."
Joshua 24:15 - "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
1 Samuel 12:20 - "And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: you have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart."
2 Chronicles 30:8 - "Now be not stiff-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into His sanctuary, which He has sanctified forever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of His wrath may turn away from you."
Psalm 2:11 - "Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling."
Psalm 100:2 - "Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing."
Matthew 12:18 - "Behold My Servant, Whom I have chosen; My Beloved, in Whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall show judgment to the Gentiles."
Matthew 20:27-28 - "And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Luke 16:13 - "No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and (wealth)."
John 8:34 - "Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin."
John 12:26 - "If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honor."
Colossians 3:23-24 - "And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ."
THE FATHER IS MAKING US MORE THAN SERVANTS:
WE ARE HIS FRIENDS, HIS CHILDREN, HIS HEIRS (Philippians 1:6)!
John 15:15 - "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his Lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you."
Acts 26:18 - "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me."
Galatians 4:1-7 - "Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differs not from a servant, though he be lord of all; but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: but when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the Law, to redeem them that were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."
IT IS AN HONOR TO BE A SERVANT OF ALMIGHTY GOD, BUT,
BY THE GRACE OF GOD, BELIEVERS ARE MORE THAN SERVANTS!
