BELIEVERS IN CHRIST WILL DO GOOD WORKS!

DOING GOOD WORKS CANNOT SAVE YOU

Matthew 7:21-23 - "Not every one that says unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name?  And in Thy name have cast out devils?  And in Thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you who work iniquity."
[Note:  John 6:29 says, "...This is the work of God, that you believe on Him Whom He has sent."  In other words, believe on Jesus - see Jn. 3:16!].

Romans 4:2-5 - "For if Abraham were justified by works, he had whereof to glory; but not before God.  For what does the Scripture say?  Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.  Now to him that works is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.  But to him that (does not do religious works), but believes on Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."

Romans 9:31-33 - "But Israel, who followed after the Law of righteousness, has not attained to the Law of righteousness.  Why?  Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the Law.  For they stumbled at the Stumbling-stone; as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a Stumbling-stone and rock of offence:  and whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed."

Romans 11:5-6 - "Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.  And if by grace, then is it no more of works:  otherwise grace is no more grace.  But if it be of works, then is it no more grace...."

Galatians 2:16 - "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the Law:  for by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."

Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  not of works, lest any man should boast."

Titus 3:5 - "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us...."

GENUINE GOOD WORKS ARE THE RESULT ONE'S SALVATION

Matthew 5:16 - "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Who is in heaven."

Acts 26:20 - "But (I showed) first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works  (which are befitting genuine) repentance."
[Note the order:  1) repent and turn to God; 2) do works for God!].

Acts 9:36 - "Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas:  this woman was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did."

Galatians 3:2-3 - "This only would I learn of you, (Did you receive) the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by the hearing of faith?  Are ye so foolish?  Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the (works of the) flesh?"

Galatians 5:19, 22-23 - "Now the works of the flesh are manifest....But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
[Note:  Fruit does not produce itself, but is the evidence of the kind of tree from which it comes!].

Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had before ordained that we should walk in them."

1 Timothy 6:17-18 - "Charge those (believers) who are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate (share with those in need)."

Titus 3:8 - "This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."

SALVATION IS THE FREE GIFT WE RECEIVE BY FAITH ALONE.
GOOD WORKS ARE THE WAY BELIEVERS SAY "THANK YOU LORD!"
