JESUS: ISRAEL'S KING AND PRIEST

MATTHEW 1 - JESUS:  A JEW AND KING OF THE JEWS!

THE SON OF ABRAHAM, DAVID, AND OF SOLOMON,

BUT NOT OF JOSEPH! 

Matthew 1:1-6, 16 - "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.  Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren; and Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram; and Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon; and Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; and Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias....And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, Who is called Christ."

[Note:  Jesus was born a Jew as a descendant of Abraham.  Jesus was born to be King as a descendant of David through David's son, Solomon!  As "Christ," translated from the  Greek Χριστός (Christos), which means "the Anointed One, the Messiah, the Son of God!"  Jesus was not born of Joseph, but of Mary and the Holy Spirit (Mt. 1:19-25).]

GENESIS 3 - JESUS WAS BORN OF THE SEED OF EVE, NOT OF ADAM!
A PROPHECY OF THE MIRACLE OF THE VIRGIN BIRTH!

Genesis 3:14-15 - "And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; (He) shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel."

LUKE 3 - JESUS:  A JEW AND A PRIEST OF ISRAEL!

A SON OF ABRAHAM, OF DAVID, OF NATHAN, OF LEVI,

BUT NOT OF JOSEPH!

Luke 3:23-24, 31-34 - "And Jesus Himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi....which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David....which was the son of Jesse, which was the son of Obed, which was the son of Booz, which was the son of Salmon, which was the son of Naasson, which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda, which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of Abraham...."

[Note:  Jesus was born a Jew as a descendant of Abraham.  Jesus was born to be Priest as a descendant of David through David's son, Nathan!  Jesus was not born of Joseph, but of Mary and the Holy Spirit (Lk. 3:23).  However, in addition to His qualification to be a Priest as a descendant of Levi, Jesus was called of His Father a High Priest after the order of Melchisedec!  The Greek Μελχισέδεκ (Melchisedek), which means "King of Righteousness, and King of Salem" (Peace)!]

JESUS:  THE HIGH PRIEST AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHISEDEC!

NOT OF HUMAN LINEAGE, BUT DECLARED SO BY HIS FATHER!

Hebrews 5:5-6 - "So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made an High Priest; but He that said unto Him, Thou art My Son, today have I begotten thee.  As He saith also in another place, Thou art a Priest forever after the order of Melchisedec."

Hebrews 7:11 - "If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the Law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?"

JESUS IS RETURNING SOON TO RULE AND REIGN AS KING OF KINGS!

HAVE YOU ACCEPTED HIS OFFER OF SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN HIM?
