HE IS GOD - WE AREN'T!

DOES ANY MAN REALLY KNOW THE MIND OF GOD?

One of my "pet peeves," is how so many Christians take a passage from the Bible and declare, sometimes with almost an arrogant attitude, that the passage applies to their particular situation.  Let me give you the perfect example:  The promises of God to provide health, wealth, and peace to those who obey His Commandments; all having to do with Israel, and their life here on earth -verses- the Lord's teaching that those who trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, the Church, will have persecution and suffer many trials and much tribulation!  Israel's rewards are here on earth; the Church's are awaiting us in heaven!

I have even heard some say that what God has done in the past, He has to do for them if two or more agree.  Yes, I know.  They're supporting their demands of Him on promises given to His twelve disciples.  But God cannot be treated like a Genie kept in a bottle until one decides to "use Him!"  He has protected millions of lives during their time here on earth, but there comes a time when He allows trials, suffering, and death to each; some live to a "ripe old age," and others die in their youth.  We do not know what God will do in each situation!  Jesus asked three times to avoid "the cup He was facing," and yet, throughout the Gospels, those wanting to stone Him were unable to do so!  Paul asked three times for "his thorn in the flesh" to be removed, and it was not.  Just a clue to this is found in His teaching that we are to preface our stated plans for the future, even the next day, with "If the Lord wills!"  No man knows what God is going to do in any given situation!

Let me ask you:  How many cities did Israel conquer by blowing trumpets?  How many prophets had a beast of burden speak to them?  From how many graves did Jesus raise the dead?  How many virgins have given birth?  How many prophets have been fed by birds?  How many men ever walked on water?  Peter walked toward Jesus on the Sea of Galilee, but Moses walked on the dry land at the bottom of the Red Sea!

The next time someone tells you that "all you have to do is pray," have them read:

Romans 8:26-27 - Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities:  for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And He that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

WE ARE TO TRUST THE LORD FOR ONLY HE KNOWS WHAT IS BEST!
