MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE BOOK OF LIFE

GOD IS NOT GOVERNED BY TIME

Exodus 32:31-33 - And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.  Yet now, if You will forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray Thee, out of Thy book which You have written.  And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever has sinned against Me, him will I blot out of My book.

Deuteronomy 9:12-14 - And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from here; for thy people which you have brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.  Furthermore the LORD spoke unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people:  let Me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven:  and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

Deuteronomy 29:18-20 - Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that bears gall and wormwood; and it come to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:  the LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

2 Kings 14:26-27 - For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter:  for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel.  And the LORD said that he would not blot out the name of Israel from under heaven:  but He saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

Philippians 4:3 - And I entreat you also, true yoke fellow, help those women which labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow laborers, whose names are in the book of life.

Revelation 3:4-5 - You have a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white:  for they are worthy.  He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.

Revelation 13:8 - And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 17:8 - The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:  and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Revelation 20:12-15 - And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:  and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:  and they were judged every man according to their works.  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:27 - And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie:  but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 22:19 - And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

DID YOU NOTICE THAT NONE OF THE VERSES TELL US SOMEONES NAME WAS ADDED TO THE BOOK OF LIFE?  I BELIEVE THAT EVERYONES NAME WAS IN IT AT THE TIME OF THE CREATION, AND THAT NAMES WERE BLOTTED OUT DUE TO GOD'S FOREKNOWLEDGE.  HE KNEW THEN WHO WOULD TRUST IN HIM!

TO BE CERTAIN THAT YOUR NAME IS IN HIS BOOK, TRUST IN JESUS, WHO PAID FOR OUR SINS, AND WAS RAISED TO BE LORD OF ALL CREATION!
