KNOW YOUR REAL ENEMY!

IDENTIFYING OUR ENEMY 

Revelation 12:7-9 - And there was war in heaven:  Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world:  he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

KNOWING HIS TACTICS

John 8:44 - You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own:  for he is a liar, and the father of it.

John 10:10 - The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy....

Hebrews 2:14 - Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.

1 John 2:15-16 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  

DEFEATING OUR ENEMY WITH THE WORD OF GOD

Matthew 4:1-11 - Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.  And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward hungry (a desire of the flesh).  And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread (Satan appeals to His flesh).  But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.  Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto Him, If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down:  for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning You: and in their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone (Satan assumes Jesus would be proud of being the Son of God).  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, You shalt not tempt the Lord your God.  Again, the devil took Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world,  and the glory of them (Satan assumes that Jesus will lust  for what He sees); and said unto Him, All these things will I give You, if You will fall down and worship me.  Then said Jesus unto him, (Get away from Me), Satan:  for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.  Then the devil left Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.

DEFEATING OUR ENEMY WITH THE THINGS THAT PROTECT US!

Ephesians 6:10-17 - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of HIS might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Revelation 12:10-11 - And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ:  for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

EVEN IF SATAN IS PERMITTED TO KILL US,

WE WILL BE RAISED TO LIVE FOREVER

WITH OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST!
