WRITTEN AS IF THE APOSTLE PAUL IS REACTING
TO WHAT HE SEES ON THE NIGHTLY NEWS!
[Romans 1:15-32 as it might be written today]
I am ready to preach the Gospel to you and your leaders in Washington, D.C.! For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, because it has the power of God to save everyone that believes it, from the guilt of sin, and from God's wrath that will soon be poured out on this wicked world! The world did not begin with a "big bang," but God spoke and Creation took place! However, there will be a "big bang" at the end of this world, and it will be burned up and replaced by a New Heaven and New Earth!
The Bible reveals that the wrath of God is coming soon because of sin and injustice. And yet, the vast majority of Americans choose to live as though the truth found in the Bible is a lie! All that which may be known of God is manifest in His Word; for God has revealed it beginning with Creation! Yes the invisible things of God are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that you are without excuse! When the truth about God was proclaimed by those who believe God's Word, you failed to give Him the glory He deserves; neither were you thankful; but you became vain in your imaginations, and your foolish heart was darkened. Professing yourselves to be wise, you have became fools, and changed the glory of the Holy God into an image made like sinful men, and birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Therefore, God has given you up to uncleanness through the lusts of your own hearts, to dishonor your own bodies between yourselves: changing the truth of God into a lie, and you worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this cause God gave you up unto vile affections: for even your women do change the natural use of their bodies into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burning in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is an abomination, and receiving in yourselves a suitable reward for such debauchery! And even as you did not like to retain God in your conscience, God has given you over to a live according to your twisted mind, and to do those things which are not according to His will; therefore, you lacking righteousness, you are filled with fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; you are full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, and even your children are disobedient and rebellious! You are without understanding, covenant-breakers, lacking natural affection, implacable, and unmerciful! You, knowing the judgment of God, that awaits you, continue to commit such things that God's Word says are worthy of death! You not only do the same things yourselves, but you actually praise others who do them!
HOWEVER, IT IS NOT TO LATE
TO ACCEPT GOD'S FORGIVENESS
AND SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE
TRYING TO RESCUE OTHERS!
[Romans 10:9-13 as I understand it]
If you believe that Jesus died for your sins, are willing to confess your faith in Him as your Lord, and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved from your sins and from the terrible wrath of Almighty God! For with the heart man believes and is declared to be a child of God, and with his mouth, his confession of faith in Christ reveals true salvation. For the Scripture says, Whosoever believes in Jesus shall not be ashamed. - - - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!
