THE GREAT COMMISSION EXPLAINED!

THE GREAT COMMISSIONING OF CHRIST'S DISCIPLES!

Matthew 28:18-20 - And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:  and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.

Notes:
1.  "Disciple" -  Greek:  mathetes - One who believes the teachings of the one being followed; a follower.
2.  "Power" - Greek:  exousia - Authority over, in this case, the realms of both heaven and earth.
3.  "Teach" - Greek:  matheteuo - Make disciples.  Since we are told in Romans 1:16, that it is the Gospel message which is the power of God to make disciples, we know that the material we are to convey is the Gospel as it is found in: 

1 Corinthians 15:1-6 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved . . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:  and that He was seen of Cephas (Peter), then of the twelve:  after that, He was seen of above (more than) five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep (have died).

4.  "Baptizing" - Greek:  baptizo - A symbolic act of cleansing by immersion in water; it always follows one's profession of faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ (See Acts 2:38; 8:35-39; 9:3-18; 10:38-48; 16:12-15; 18:8; 19:1-5; etc.).

5.  "Teaching" - Greek:  didasko - To instruct new disciples in the teachings of the Lord. 

6.  "World" - Greek:  aion - a specific period of time; an age.

THE GREAT COMMISSION BASED UPON ITS TRUE MEANING!

Matthew 28:19-20 - As My disciples, you are to go into all the world and share the Gospel message which has the power to produce faith in those who receive it; you are to baptize new believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit:  then you are responsible for teaching the new believers My teachings.  And you are not alone; for I am with you until the end of the age!  Amen!

FINDS A CHURCH WHERE THE BIBLE IS TAUGHT!
